Glen, I have loved your music since the 60’s and never missed the Glen Campbell Good Time hour. I was at your concert in 1969 at the Garden State Art Center. My last time to spend with my Dad before I went off to college. Your music had a purity and wholesomeness that is hard to find in today music. I tried to come up with my favorite song from your albums, As I look back, all of them are my favorite. I now live in Las Vegas and was at the last concert you had at Sam’s Town. What a wonderful night of remembering. All of our lives were touched by your music. Your life experiences as we watched your career on tv and we lived your music, now makes us seem like good friends. The reality is we will never meet. As a polio victim of the early 1950’s’ your music helped me to adapt and dream and made my life better. Thank you for the memories. Bruce in Las Vegas.

Today, I went to the beach front with my kids.
I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.”
She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside
and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!
LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I
    had to tell someone!

Hope you are doing ok. I have always enjoyed your music, your talent and kindness. I really like the Jimmy Webb song that you sing “Moons a Harsh Mistress”. You are an American treasure man! God Bless you and your family. Hope to see you perform again soon. You have more talent and class than any performer and if anyone can beat back this disease you are the one to do it. I grew up in the late ’60s-’70s and my mother was definitely playing
Glen Campbell music in our house. I have fond memories. Now, I have
mostly been a rock’n roll girl, but having had years of piano lessons, I
still have eclectic taste, and Glen, your music has always been a part
of the collection. I regret, truly, that I never got to see you in concert.
I had some forced down town this weekend and spent most of the weekend re-listening to your music.
What sweet, sweet, magnificent talent. Many times I had tears.
Praise Him for the gift you have been in your talent and ways your have
touched the lives of countless people, yet your additional gift is your
testimony to our Lord. Thank you for living that.
May God’s grace and peace be with you and your family as your journey of faith and love continues.

I first saw Glen, in 1964, when I lived in Southern Calif. I couldn’t believe my eyes. He looked just like my oldest brother, and me..In 1975 I found out, that we were indeed, related. I sound like him, when I talk and sing, and now, I look like him, more and more. It has been a thrill, to be related to such a sweet person, as Glen. His talents are supberb, and his kindness is unsurpassed..My heart breaks for him, and his caring family. I know his loving spirit, and that he has a home in heaven..God bless him and those of us, who love him. There will never be another Glen Campbell, but, he has sweet children, who will carry on, in his foot steps, “and I am glad, for that”.. Kim, we are keeping you in our prayers, as you carry on, at making the best, of a tough situation..our love to you all!..Fran Whewell

I would like to say Thank You Glen. I was 6 when Santa brought me my first guitar. My hero’s were yourself, John Denver, Patsy Cline, Loretta, and Willie, Waylon, and Kris. We met at the Nugget in Sparks, Nv., before your concert. My family and I were having dinner in the Steakhouse as you were with your family. You had Hawaiian shorts on and ready to go!! Just know that I picked strawberries for 2 years to buy my 12 string. My oldest son is an accomplished pianist and guitarist. My Matthew who will soon turn six, plays the piano and wants to be a drummer. My Andrew will be 22, and Matthew, 6, they both know all the words and music to your songs. I have to say when you played the accordian to Danny Boy that was heart wrenching. You have given so much to all of us. My Andrew and I last saw you at the Silver Legacy 2 years ago. Thank you for sharing your gift, it has not only helped me in my life but also my sons. The gift of music is a gift from God!! Thank you from the bottom and top of my heart, Shari

Glen Campbell’s “That Christmas Feeling” Album from the mid 60’s is the best Christmas Album I’ve ever owned or heard. My parents owned this album and I have listened to it every Christmas since I was about 10 years old. I have many Christmas CD’s and I would love to have this album in CD form. I copied my album onto a cassette 30 years ago and put my album away for safe keeping, but I have since worn out my cassettte. My daughter tried to find it in a CD for a present for me, but it still has not been released in CD format. . My album is too worn for me to burn it to a CD. ” Little Alter Boy” is so beautiful, it touches me and brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it. This past Christmas was the first time I was not able to listen to it.

I hope Mr. Campbell and his record label read this post and PLEASE release this in a CD. I’d love to be able to listen to it form many more years.

Absolutely Brilliant! “There’s No Me Without You”
A standout from the first note you played…love your voice! Just love your musical effort….quite a life!

  57. 14 March 13, 7:59pm

Glen Campbell has left a lasting memory for me. I say him before his Goodtime hour. How he sang and played guitar and banjo on Y’all Come. With some of the finest musicians. Glen was a great seasion guitar player as early as 1960. Making over 100k! A humble man who knew his instrument but it “served” his music. He wasn’t just one if those technical players with no feel. I’d watch Glen on his Goodtime Hour sing and watch and follow Stevie Wonder on one of the finest versions of “Blowing In the Wind.” He sang with Cher, Johnny Cash, Roger Miller, Linda Ronstandt, oh and so, so many more. He couldn’t help move his body to the music. Glen would just naturally do marvelous fill-ins on his guitar when he beautifly sang those great Jimmy Webb songs. It was intinctive. Who noticed? It when he sang Jesus and Me in the Chuch – “I have song for kings and queens all around the world…now I’m singing a new song, making music to Jesus my King, He is my hero…there’s no other song, no higher melody…”
Even today, when he struggles to remember some words to a song, his guitar playing is impeccable! When he does “Dueling Banjos” with his lovely daughter Ashley, he “toys” with her with his guitar. She’s great though! So protective if her father whom she clearly dearly loves.
Lets remember Glen in our prayers. He is by far one of the greatest entertainers around and one the best living guitar players in the world.

Glen, since I was a lad in the 70’s listening to 20 Golden Greats in my dad’s car on his 8-track I’ve been a fan. Even through my “punk” days you still remained a mainstay in my record collection. I finally got to see you live in Belfast in 2008 with my wife, who had also become a fan through my love of your music. Its so sad I’ll never experience that again. I read many of these comments yesterday and had feelings of joy and sadness. Many of you love Glen and his music as much as i do – which gave me joy. My sadness came when Glen’s illness was discussed. I don’t want to think about this and prefer to stay happy with my own special memories.
Glen saved my life in 1980 when I had reached rock bottom. I sat listening to his music and believed he was singing just to me and supporting me with words of encouragement. However strange others might view this comment, Glen himself is aware of this and he is full of understanding and has always supported me.
I love Glen for many reasons, not only for his superb voice and guitar skills, but as a friend who has written to me, greeted me so many times at his concerts and who has dedicated his songs to me. One song in particular was ‘I Love How You Love Me’, Glen understands why he is so special to me and why I will always need him in my life. I have always shown him great respect and I know he appreciates this.
I remember all the band members from past to present, who made me so welcome on every occasion. I will forever be indebted to Bill McClay for his kindness in allowing my meetings with Glen to happen. I count everyone as a friend and the memories I have will remain with me for ever.
Glen knows that I was diagnosed with breast cancer 5 years ago. He told me at the time that he would pray for me and that we would meet again in heaven. (Glen is not aware that I was given the all-clear last week.) Thank you Glen for your prayers. We’ll meet again in heaven just as you said.
God bless you and keep you safe.

My girlfriend and I saw Glen at the old Charlotte Coliseum on Sunday, June 15, 1969. I had bought the best seats available at the time, only six rows from the stage. I will never forget the bright yellow dress she wore that night, and how pretty she looked, nor will I ever forget hearing Glen sing his most popular songs of that time. Thanks Glen, for your music, and for all of the memories, and may God bless you!

Dear Glen and family, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You–I saw “The Farewell Tour” show at Shippensburg University the end of Oct for my birthday (well, yes I was 72). It was AWESOME!!! I have been a fan since the late 60’s, raised my one son and youngest dtr to all the Glen Campbell music I could get my hands on; and enjoyed The Goodtime Hour immensely! (Any reruns around?) This was the only concert I had gotten to see and I was thrilled. Glen you are truly amazing in voice and instrumentals. We all are BLESSED to have had the opportunity to hear and know of all your remarkable talents. Thank You all again for a great show (I enjoyed talking to Ashley and Cal a little after the show; great kids. I look forward to hearing more from them (and Shannon); seems like that talent goes far and wide in the Campbell family. May God’s Blessings be on you all for sharing Glen with all of us over these many years, but, most especially at this time. You will all remain in our prayers. With Love , Kathryn

As Glen Campbell’s career comes to a tearful end Let us all remember him the way he was way back when & all of his beautiful music both singing & playing whatever instrument he could get his hands on, “He could do it all” & there will never ever be anyone like him again. Seeing him perform over & over again year after year he always puts out 100% or more when he performs in Concert. I have had the opportunity to meet him in person on several occasions the last time Andy Williams Moon River Theater in Branson MO 2002. As we bid him farewell as he rides off into the sunset May we salute him as the “Greatest of all time”.
Thank you Glen for all the memories you & I have shared on a personal level and on behalf of all your fans around the world Thank you for the Memories and May God Bless you & your family always.

My wife and I went to show in Little Rock, Arkansas. We were truly blessed to have seen you perform and will cherish the memory for a lifetime. We absolutely loved your performance with your children on stage. They are so musically talented and have promising careers in the future. God truly blessed you with many talents to share with the world and a life richly blessed with a loving family. Your testimony is inspiration to many that suffer with alzheimer’s for hope in the future. You have left your mark in this world and it is a better place because of you. You are loved and will never be forgotten.

Glen, I will always remember sitting on the floor with you in Orlando at the airport. It was just magical. Your daughter Debbie brought you something to eat and I just couldn’t believe my good luck to be sitting there with you. No one else saw you except my husband who I called over. I remember sitting there and you had a baseball cap on and you sort of looked up and smirked at me. I said you looked very familiar and you said who do you think I am. I knew right away who you were. You were just so funny and gracious and started singing little snip it’s of your songs. Debbie came over and we all talked. You invited us to your Christmas show and then back stage. It was just wonderful to meet you both. We sat near you on the plane and just enjoyed your company. Debbie said you were there playing golf. We will never forget you, you’ll be forever on my mind. God bless you and all of your family.

Tina and Jerry. Debbie are you still flying, our corporate department is looking for a good flight attendant for another very high profile person. I wish you had gotten back to me but I understand. You have definitely gotten your dads voice so please keep singing.

I doubt Glen realizes how many lives he has touched with his music. Iam 57 now and discovered Glen when I was 8. I will never forget my first Glen Campbell concert. In the ups and downs of life I have always turned to music and Glen always had a song for me. Thanks Glen and may God bless you and yours as much as your music as blessed me.

I am alittle concerned. Being a healthcare worker I am around Alzheimers patients quite a bit. The LAST THING these people need is a grueling, heavy duty touring/concert schedule in different cities/time zones etc. I LOVE Glen Campbell, and we have seen him twice in the last 5 yrs but I dont understand why the family is doing this to him. He needs to be slowing down and taking care of his health to slow the process down. GLEN WE LOVE YOU BUT YOU NEED TO BE TAKING MORE TIME OFF ENJOYING YOUR HOME AND YOUR FAMILY!

I saw Glen in Bethlehem PA on 10/26/2012 and was concerned because it had been 13 months since I last saw him in Philadelphia and I needed not be as he was as good or better than the last time. I have seen him in concert around seven times since 1970. I am sure this is the very end of this chapter of his life but he is going out on top with a great tour and great last album. If the album Ghosts on the Canvas has not been certified Gold or Platinum yet I urge all the fans to buy it. It is his best album since the 70s. I wish him and his family all of my best and pray he has a lot more great days ahead as he deserves them.

To Glen and family, I watched you perform last night in Ithaca, NY. It was truly a dream come true as I was there with family. We watched your life unfold in the sixties with TV and record albums. We watched our mom as she danced around the house to your classic “Every day housewife”. We fondly recall my dad, who just passed in June 2012, taking us to the first night of “True Grit” in our hometown of Binghamton, NY. Oh, Glen, thank you for sharing your life with us up close and personal. You are truly an amazing performer and most unforgettable. My favorite line that you stated last night on several occasions throughout your performance-“I’m just so glad to be here. Where am I?”. I wanted to shout out to you-“Glen, you’re with family”.

On October 19, 2012 my brother e mailed me at work to tell me he and his wife were planning to see Glen Campbell in Morristown, New Jersey that night. He then said he had an extra ticket and asked me if I wanted to join him. I immediately said yes. I am so glad I did. The concert was excellent. What’s even better is my brother had a second extra ticket which allowed my girlfriend to join us! One of the greatest concerts I have ever seen. Several times during the concert Mr. Campbell said “I am happy to be here.” I was even more happy to attend such a terrific concert.
When my brother told me the reason why this current tour will be Mr. Campbell’s last, I felt so sorry for him and for his family. I wish them all of the best. Thank you Mr. Campbell for such wonderful songs, an excellent concert and for being such a good man.

I’m very happy to see Glen Campbell is still touring! I hope this is his personal wishes and that he’s not being pushed to do more than he wants. However, why still no Colorado?! I see several places where he is returning for a second concert. Why not give all his fans, in all locations, a chance to see him one last time?

Just saw Glen and family New Brunswick. He is amazing, and having so much fun. He gave 100% and the show was wonderfull. Its my 2nd time this year, to see him. He had the crowd laughing and singing, and when he hit on some of his Ghosts on the canvas songs, they were sad. It was a great show. He said he hopes to come back to NJ and I hope he does.. Bravo Glen and Victoria Ghost!!!!

My wife surprised me with tickest fo my birthday. Went to last night’s show in Sewell,NJ. Glen put on a wonderful performance and the audience showed their appreciation with numerous standing ovations.
My favorite is “Wichita Lineman”, it brought a tear to my eye, it is beautiful.
I can see his kids in herited his musical genes. They are very talented, especially Ashley who not only plays several instruments but has a great voice.
Although it is sad he has a debilitating disease, I give him credit for wanting to tour at a grueling pace. Music has been his life and he is a legend. He sang a couple of Jimmy Webb songs that were beautiful.

I had the good fortune to see Glen perform over 30 years ago in Las Vegas. He was a much better musician than his tunes on the radio ever let on. It was an incredible performance! I wish I could see him on his farewell tour – from the videoclips that I’ve seen, he looks and sounds as good as ever. For all of you who have had the opportunity to see him and his excellent family on his farewell tour, count yourselves lucky. There is only one Glen Campbell!

Awesome concert in Honolulu 9/2/12. He is still a master guitarist. Stumbled on the words for a number of songs but the fans didn’t mind. 6 standing ovations! Glen’s kids are also very talented. Love his new song “A Better Place”.

  100. 06 September 12, 2:24pm

I just wanted to say how proud I am of him as a son of Arkansas. The first movie I ever saw was “True Grit,” which my parents took me to see on my fourth birthday in Little Rock (at the old Heights Theater, I think). They took me because I was a BIG fan of Glen even then. I never missed him on TV, and loved the specials he made over the years. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned he’s one of the best session guitarists that ever lived. His choice of songs is amazing, and we owe him so much for recording songwriters like Jimmy Webb and Allen Toussaint. How could anyone listen to him sing “I am so afraid of dying” in “Galveston” and not imagine the kid in the song sitting in the jungle a world away? Anyway, I really would love to have been at the show tonight in Little Rock, but I’m in Kentucky now and couldn’t get away. Robinson was where my mother took me for my first concert, Mason Williams, who was a writer and composer for the Smothers Brothers show, which helped bring Glen so much recognition. Glen, you’re truly one of my heroes, and I wish you the best tonight and every night.

I thoroughly enjoyed Glen Campbell’s Honolulu concert on 9/2! He sang
and played some of his greatest hits, popular tunes, and current ones.
He is such a gifted entertainer..Fantastic! I also enjoyed his
as the opening act. So good as singers, musicians, and performers.
    Special thank you
to Ashley Campbell for kindly and generously providing her autograph to
me and others after the performance.
Glen Campbell and your family, come visit Hawaii more often, especially

Well, his voice is still in its top shape. But I guess his disease only allows him to play for an hour here in Honolulu. His kids’ group opens the show for him, and he seems to be very happy to be able to play with them. the energy is there. A great show.

Was so fortunate to see Glen perform twice in a six month time frame. Watched him perform last January at the Rialto Theater in Joliet IL and again at Ravinia in June. Glen was FANTASTIC at both concerts. It brought tears to my eyes to listen to this legacy perform. Such a talented man. His voice is still as good as ever…and his guitar talent is unbelievable! Brought back many good memories listening to Glen on road trips with my Parents back in the 60’s. It was great to see his children perform with him. Very talented as well! So sweet to watch Ashley look out for her dad. Glen you are truly a legend…God Bless you and your family.

    This message is for Kim
Campbell. I introduced myself to you
both while standing in the security check line at the Dulles Airport in
May. I’ve never in my life invaded a
celebrity’s privacy before, but felt compelled to meet you both because of a
special I had recently seen on TV. Kim,
I want you to know that as amazing as it was to meet Glen, I was especially
impressed by your gentle strength and courage.
I can’t imagine the challenges you face as the wife of a celebrity, but
adding to that the randomness of Alzheimer’s, I know has got to be extremely
hard on you. It was hard to see Glen’s
confusion when it came time to move through security screening. But I was so impressed by your ability to
take complete charge, with grace, and gentle efficiency. You obviously eased his confusion, giving him
the comfort, direction and focus he needed to move through a process that
stresses out most people who aren’t dealing with a debilitating illness. Your actions, while natural, and obviously
based on the love and respect you have your husband, are an example that others
who are also facing this terrible disease can look up to. I appreciate the opportunity to meet you both,
and I especially appreciate the example you are setting for others who are
    going through similar experiences. God
bless you both, and I truly wish the best for you Kim.

The Campbell family undoubtedly loves him very, very much to help him with the tour. My mother also had the disease. I think it’s great to let the curtain down slowly. I encourage the tour to continue as long as he can function. The fans will love him no matter what.

totally enjoyed Chicago’s Ravinia performance…..I’ve been waiting all my life to see him….having lost my mom exactly two years earlier to alzheimers it was the most beautiful touching and at times funny concert I have seen…his guitar skills were still spot on and his voice rang true….read the the Chicago Tribune Reviews and you will see we definitely saw something special..with a different twist that most don’t see as a new normal that is only learned form experience the sweet side of dementia!!! Its not always that sweet…way to Go Glen and Family…I think about it almost daily what a joy it was for me and my wife….tears falling uncontrollably during Wichita Lineman….the perfect day for ME! Glen
thought “Its HOT out here!!!” Way to sweet!!!

There have been studies talking about the positive impact and the staying power of music. I want to believe, based on those studies, that Mr. Campbell will benefit from the music and the heartfelt, admiring good-byes.

  114. Alzheimer's is in my genes
    26 August 12, 6:13am

Little Me – as someone with a long family history of Alzheimer’s, I ‘d like to respond to your accusation of his family mistreating Mr. Campbell. As long as he can continue to remember most of the words to his songs. . . I’d say let him continue doing what he loves. Alzheimer’s patient’s don’t usually allow anyone to ‘force them’ to do anything. If they don’t want to do something, they don’t. No matter how much you might try to get them to, and even if it’s in ‘their best’ interest.
I see this tour as one last chance for his fans to love show him publicly that they remember him, even as his memory is fading. I’m sure it warms his heart in these last days of his ability to remember who he is, and what he did.

    21 August 12, 10:05am

To make a brief comment about the previous post… I was back stage with Glen in both Las Vegas and Phoenix recently and I asked him personally if he was enjoying this final tour and he said yes, very much. I don’t want anyone to believe Glen is frail or weak by any means. He’s in good spirits and he’s also 75 years old. I think he and his beautiful wife Kim and family are looking to wind down and it appears that is just the case this year. You have to remember Glen is a “performer” and he LOVES what he does on stage and in the studio. I just wanted to clear up any possible leaks that are untrue. Scott Kramer – Phoenix, AZ

I saw him in July at the Birchmere in Alexandria VA…..the whole show was a
” lifetime memory “…….His three kid’s and their band Victoria Ghost opened the show up
I think Glen loves performing….his family’s support onstage was so tender and loving…..He was just ” amazing “…they as a family and the longtime band members were ” just amazing “…….I came close to tears several times…..there will never be another Glen Campbell…….the romantic nuance and ” story of every day real America ” in his
songs are Glen’s alone…..his special gift.

I think Glen loves to perform and that is what keeps him going!

  119. 05 August 12, 9:04pm

I think Glen Campbell has no say over where he goes or what he does. Look at the interviews on u-tube that he’s done in the past year. He looks to his wife to tell him where he’s going on tour. He is led on stage, is often confused during shows and at times, can’t find his way off stage. Why not let the world remember the dynamic, handsome and sexy performer he was instead of this tour that documents his deteriorating condition for all to observe. Isn’t his family satisfied with the millions he has (50 million is remported). What is it going to take to stop this family from forcing him to continue this intensive good bye tour? I’ve seen photos of him in a wheel chair at the airports holding a cane, looking very exhausted. It’s time to let Glen Campbell have some relaxation and peace.

    • 05 August 12, 9:18pm

where are you seeing that?? i haven’t seen anything like that. it would make sense though…. a few weeks ago he fell somewhere and injured his left knee. if you watch youtube videos glen and tj explain what happened and what it was. he pulled a ligament or something. can’t remember the show though but it was a about a month or two ago.

Mike, Check out on internet “Glen Campbell arrives for flight at LAX” and you will see a 8 photos of him in a wheel chair with a cane from July 2012. He looks exhausted and confused.

        • 06 August 12, 10:37pm

June would make sense. Its not a legit wheelchair, Just an airport one and the cane is probably because of his knee injury he had sustained. I wouldn’t want to walk on a bum knee. As for exhausted, yes, I can imagine its exhausting for someone his age to tour or ride an airplane. That’s why his Australia tour was cancelled. At 76, I would not want to venture on a plane for 15 hours straight. He’s had some time off, but not enough. His tour is almost done ( 🙁 ) and then he’ll have his time to rest. He’s got the next month off now then 3 days and then more time off before the last dates. God bless him for still being out there. He’s had a fantastic career.

I hadn’t heard about his knee injury….t.hanks for letting me know that’s why he was in the airport chair and glad he has a month to rest up. • 15 August 12, 4:08pm

Perhaps, even though hard, it is for the best. It seems to me that this is what keeps him going.

    • 26 August 12, 7:22am

Time is running out for Mr. Campbell. Very soon he will no longer be able to do his life’s work / passion. I imagine there is a struggle from his family in letting him do what he loves as long as he can vs. sitting him in a nursing home where I would imagine his disease would accelerate. He loves performing. Let him perform as long as he can and have however many days he has left spent doing what he loves.

My mom has Alzheimer’s, the one thing they hold onto is the past. I think that what he is doing is great! Music was the one constant in his life for so many years, I’m sure that he is loving every minute of the time he spends on stage. His daughter is on stage with him also. Alzheimer’s patients can suffer from severe Depression, and doing these concerts is probably keeping him happy. I wish he was coming to somewhere near me, I would LOVE to go see him, even if he repeated the same song over and over! He’s such an icon for country and even all music. And yes I’m sure its exhausting for him—who wouldn’t be at his age? Would you rather that they lock him in a house and let him just shut down, because that’s what happens to 80% of Alzheimer’s patients. I’m right now fighting with my mother, and father (who does what he can) about her just laying around and not fighting the disease, or at least getting out and trying to do things. They get scared outside of what they know, and music and performing is what he knows, and has known for many years!

Yes, it’s great that Glen is still feeling like he can continue to tour! I would like to question, however, why he has visited some states 2 & 3 times, and others (like Colorado) not even once!?? My husband & I flew to Tucson, Arizona in Feb. to see him. But not all fans are that fortunate to be able to travel to see a show. I think all his fans should have at least one chance, as long as he is still perfjorming. How about hitting the states that have been missed, instead of returning where he’s already played?

Sorry to shock you but it’s not necessarily Glen feeling like he can continue to tour, his wife and management keep booking shows as long as he is physically able. Not that he’s getting enough rest between shows as that seems highly unlikely. BUT the tour continues….

We sat in the 4th row for the Albuquerque show. I feel blessed to have been able to see and hear this musical legend. After the show we waited by the front of the stage as people who had backstage passes were escorted back for a “meet-and’greet” with Glen. As the last few people were invited back, someone from Glen’s entourage told me and my wife we could come back too. Glen autographed the album I brought and his wife actually took a picture of all three of us for me with my camera. What a class act, Glen, his family and the whole crew. Thanks to all of you!

You were so very fortunate! In Tucson in Feb., the theater kicked everyone out immediately following the show. We barely had time to use the restroom before leaving the building!

Sorry to hear about the rudeness in Tucson…they seemed to be more tolerant at the 66 Casino in ABQ, although the security detail that they had directly in front of the stage before and during the show looked pretty menacing!

I absolutely loved the Albuquerque show. Dueling “banjos” with daughter Ashley playing banjo and Glenn answering on guitar was a highlight. I nearly cried during Wichita Lineman, that song and the performance of it were so passionate. Am so thankful that Glenn and his family are giving his fans this remarkable opportunity to enjoy these his music.

Husband and I just saw Glenn Campbell and family in Abq NM. He didn’t miss a step. His talent is unbelieveable, his voice is as beautiful and strong as ever and his musical instrument talent is not to believe. The fact that his daughter Ashley, son’s Shannon and Kyle will carry on his legacy because they have inherited his talent and his skill. He is so proud of his kids.

Awesome concert in Springfield MO last night! It is amazing to see his daughter there to help him if he needs it. He is still a brilliant performer with that beautiful voice. I have always been a huge Glen Campbell fan and still am. I brought a resident from Ozark Mountain Regional Healthcare nursing facility I work for in Crane MO. It was her only wish in life to see Glen in concert so I took her and she had a wonderful time. I got her picture with him after the concert even though we weren’t supposed to be there evidently because we did get told to leave but I still got the picture for her just no autograph. Glen’s kids were so gracious to give autographs to the fans and it was much appreciated. Thanks for the wonderful night especially for my resident her life is now complete.

Medical doctors do not know the score, like a nurse {holistic} practitioner. Most doctors do not know about the life saving protocol of holistic medicine. They were trained in drugs, {which poison}, usually making the cure worse than the disease. Please, do not put all your eggs in one basket, thinking that they know hese things, “in most cases”, they do not! I fervently pray, that he will get the right nutrients, which will remove the sludge, and make him well. I am a relative, and I have had the same problem. I went the holistic route, and it has worked, like a charm. I say this in love. God be with Glen

Yeah, Glen’s management is DEFINITELY overworking him! NO doubt! Everyone that has seen the tour calendar has commented on how much work they have given him. Kim (his wife) should’ve put a stop to this herself (in other words, reduced at least slightly the tour intensity) – but NO. Glen has spent SO, SO many years on the road, it’s crazy! Let the man have some breathing room and enjoy himself a little for heaven’s sake. Do 1 show, one day off, ect. – that’s why daughter Debbie no longer toured with her Dad, she didn’t want to see like this. The kids love it cause they get to do their songs at the beginning to promote themselves. Anyway, GLEN…we all love you and thank you for all of the wonderful, wonderful music and the amazing shows you have given us since the 1960’s. God Bless you Glen Campbell!!!!

I agree. He’s travelling on a tour bus. I read in his autobiography that when he was younger, he wanted to be home with his family and not tour so much but now they have him travelling on a tour bus with so many concerts. Why not let dear Glen do just a few concerts since he obviously enjoys it but also let him relax and enjoy his last few lucid days. His children are so into promoting that band of theirs and his wife always mentions the children’s band in her interviews. Obviously, they are greedy and Glen has no say in what he does anymore. He’s the best, years ago I met him. He was so gracious, thanking me for taking his pic, gave me an autograph and held my hand (which I licked all the way back home!!) LOL

    Dear Mr. Glen Campbell,
I’ve been a huge fan since your early days on TV, in the 60’s. We finally met face to face, almost ten years ago in Phoenix, Arizona, prior to the taping of the PBS radio show, “What Do You Know?”, with Micheal Felman. We walked together and talked about random things. You were so gracious. I wanted to just talk with you in a normal, comfortable fashion, before all your adoring fans came running to you for an autograph. I didn’t even ask for a autograph myself. As I left you, numerous fans were crowding around you, but I really treasured those special minutes we got to talk with each other. Thank-you for that.
I still, often listen to your music and reminisce, emotionally torn between tears and joy.
Working in the emergency medical field and having family members with your same affliction, I fully understand what you, your family and love ones are going through. Try to be as positive as one possibly can. “Know you are loved…tremendously and always, no matter what.”
Thank-you so much for all the music over the years. You’ve left an indelible mark on humanity and many, untold fans. You’ve made a difference. Thank-you !!
God bless you and Angels on your shoulders always Mr. Campbell !!

    from Darryl,
an eternal fan in Phoenix, Arizona

Just received an email that his Sydney concerts with Kenny Rogers have been cancelled. Already booked of course but the thing that got me is that they are now saying that Glen was a support act to Kenny (do you believe that) yet they advertised beforehand that it was a an equal act. Organisers just trying to squeeze out of paying for refunds as usual. Kenny is always brilliant but I was really going to see Glen as well. They now have a couple of home grown singers as “support acts”, both OK but not great and certainly not in the league as Glen.
I’d heard that Glen had an intense fear of flying, is that true? If that’s the case the concert should have never been organised. In any event, I wish him well he’s one of life’s good guys.

It thrills my hear to see Glen still able to sing and play inspite of his illness. So many people with Alzheimer’s withdraw from everyone. His putting a “face” on the disease, may help bring a cure. His song “A Better Place” is affirmation that his faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior is real. May Go bless him and his family. I’ve been blessed by Glen Campbell music since I became a fan at 9 years old. That was 1969 and I thought you were the best singer that ever lived not to mention the most handsome. I visited the Houston rodeo sometime back then and saw you Glen, the up and coming Rhinestone Cowboy. I even passed someone a note and asked them to get it to you. Your kids were a huge blessing to my husband and I Saturday night in San Antonio. We loved the show! Thankyou for a lifetime of that golden voice. I thank God for it, and pray that you and your family will have rich and wonderful times singing to our country. Thankyou Glen!

Your music touches people in a very unique and personal way. I grew up with your music and remember my family watching the Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour! I greatly enjoyed your concert tonight in San Antonio. You are a true American treasure, and its such a legacy to see it passed to your children. Thank you for this special evening.

I take Coconut Oil, along with Niacinamide, Mixed Amino Acids, and Resveratrol {red wine extract} I am having very good success, “with my memory”, “since starting on these nutrients”. You can research all of these nutrients, online. Keeping toxins out of your system, also “helps greatly”. I eat Blackberries, Cranberries, Strawberries, Raspberries, Pomagranites, grapes, fish, broccoli, kale, yogurt, whole grains, and nuts, “mostly”.. Hope to see you at the Ozark Empire Fair, Springfield, MO, on July 27th…My Love to You!

If Glen or someone close to him would research Coconut Oil and Alzheimer’s, they would be helping him greatly. Coconut Oil reverses Alzheimer’s! It’s not some scam or anything, it’s true. Look it up on youtube.

I was able to catch him after his show by his tour bus and I told him awesome show and and touched my ARM and said thanks dear! Such a sweetheart he is 🙂 god bless you Glen and your family! I saw this show…it was almost rained out but Glen hung around till the thunder and lightning left, he came on stage
and gave a great performance to those that hung around, thank you Glen
for the wonderful music you have given us thru the years. My favorite
moment of the night was while he was singing Wichita Lineman he was
pointing at his daughter Ashley while singing… “And I want you for all

Saw Glen perform last night at Ravinia and it was truly one of the most memorable experiences ever. His songs were part of my childhood so I took my mom, now 75, to the show. We had 11th row seats and Glen sounded great. My only regret was that my dad could not be with us as he’s passed away. I wish I could see him perform again. You were amazing Glen, thank you!

I agree with the comments about the opening act at the Hollywood Bowl – especially regarding Courtney Taylor-Taylor and Lucinda Williams. This was supposed to be a tribute to Glen??!! They really could have done a lot better – or have gotten performers who actually cared enough not to stink up the stage. But – Glen was great! This is the 3rd time I’ve seen him on this tour, and he was really doing some great vocal/guitar riffs! Hope he keeps doing this for as long as possible – but lets skip the opening acts – unless it’s his kid’s band (Instant People). I saw them last October and they were really good.

  201. 25 June 12, 12:43pm

Oh, Dawes….good backing band on the set as a whole and did a fine job, regardless of the strength or weaknesses of the vocalists they supported. Bravo to them.

  202. 25 June 12, 12:40pm

I’m guessing the opening tribute set was put together by KCRW and was something strictly for the Bowl performance, not part of the tour per se. And yes, it was certainly a mixed bag. Jenny Lewis and Jackson Browne were great and Kris Kristofferson was good but Courtney Taylor-Taylor was, for some reason, chanelling Leonard Cohen and Lucinda Williams seemed a bit sauced and couldn’t remember the title of her own song.

  203. Julie Dole
    25 June 12, 11:16am

I loved the Glen Campbell concert in general – he was priceless, his kids played and sang great, and the love flying around between the stage and the crowd was palpable.

But who in the world booked Courtney Taylor-Taylor? He sang in some odd key left over when they threw the lock away! Just awful – how did he get past Security? Was he a friend of the producers? They booked that guy over of all the other (and some legendary) talent in LA? Really? Talented locals (famous or not, oldie or contemporary) would have come out of the woodwork to show some love for Glen. Heck – most of the Wrecking Crew still lives here! Show the fans and Glen some respect – please replace that guy on tour!

There was only one other stumble that I would comment on – what on earth was Dawes’ drummer doing singing a strained Beach Boys lead, when Jackson Browne was right there onstage? Browne was reduced to playing rhythm guitar while that guy sang, really? Hey, as a drummer, the Dawes guy was great – but as a singer – amateur at best.

Not to be a hater – We were thrilled to see Campbell, his family, and longtime friends – they all seemed thrilled to perform for us, too. It’s just that those couple of casting choices really stood out, dinging an otherwise thrilling experience.

    • 25 June 12, 12:46pm

I think they Dawes vocalist took over for the parts that were out of Jackson Browne’s aging range.

  204. Joann
    25 June 12, 9:03am

Carol nailed it. The first two singers were an embarrassment! This is the Hollywood Bowl! We expect people who perform there to be at least good! The rest of the first half was good. I was impressed by Jenny Lewis. Glen was wonderful!

  205. 25 June 12, 1:14am

Saw Glen tonite at the Hollywood Bowl. He was awesome! Unfortunately, the first half of the show we could’ve done without! The group Dawes, and individual musicians Courtney Taylor-Taylor, Lucinda Williams, Jenny Lewis, Kris Kristofferson and Jackson Browne all were part of the first half — there to pay tribute to Glen. They either sang songs that Glen had sung over the years or songs that he played on — i.e. The Monkees’ “Daydream Believer.” The group Dawes came out first. They sang 2 of their own songs, then a Glen song (can’t remember which one). All the individual musicians were accompanied by the group Dawes. The next “musician” Courtney Taylor-Taylor came out and sang The Monkees “Daydream Believer” and “Last Train to Clarksville,” and the Beach Boy’s “I Get Around.” He was absolutely HORRIBLE!! He butchered the songs — especially the Monkees songs — and we all commented that Davy Jones had to be rolling over in his grave!! He sounded like he was drunk! Then Lucinda Williams came out and sang Glen’s “Turn Around” and “Yesterday When I Was Young.” She also sang “You Were Born to Be Loved.” All three songs sounded like SHE was drunk too! She kept swaying back and forth and we all thought she was going to fall over!! It was a total insult to us fans — listening to these “musicians” butcher and bastardize these songs! They were the worst!! And they didn’t do Glen any favors!! They were totally disgusting!! Then Kris Kristofferson came out and sang “The Highway Men,” “Let Me Be A Little Kinder” and “Someone’s Gonna Get Hurt.” He was OK — his voice is not as good as it used to be — but he had a sweet spirit about him. Then Jenny Lewis came out. She could actually sing — and she sang “She’s Gone, Gone, Gone” and another song she wrote about life on the road. She then introduced Jackson Browne — who came out and sang the old Glen and Bobbie Gentry duet — “Let It Be Me” with Jenny. He then sang the Beach Boy’s song “I Know There’s An Answer” and “These Days” from Glen’s new CD. He brought all the musicians back out to sing together “Viva Las Vegas.” This lasted for about 1-1/2 hours! We couldn’t WAIT to have Glen come out — and when he did — he was GREAT!!! Whoever booked the first half of the show — needs to get their head examined!! What a waste of time and money for us fans!! Just plain mind numbingly stupid!

    Glen’s set list:
    “Gentle on My Mind”
“By The Time I Get To Phoenix”
    “Try A Little Kindness”
    “Where’s the Playground, Susie?”
    “Didn’t We”
    “I Can’t Stop Loving You”
    “True Grit”
    “Lovesick Blues”
    “Dueling Banjos” w/Ashley Campbell

Glen took a short break and “Victoria Ghost” (Ashley and Shannon Campbell, w/Cal Campbell, Ry Jarred and Kief Nilsson, Harry’s son) sang one of their new original songs, then sang “Hey Little One”

    “Don’t Go”
    “Your Amazing Grace”
    “The Moon’s a Harsh Mistress”
    “Wichita Lineman”
    “Rhinestone Cowboy”

    “Southern Nights”
    “A Better Place”

Glen sang Jimmy Webb’s song “The Moon’s a Harsh Mistress” — flawlessly — and it was absolutely beautiful — only accompanied by T.J. Kuenster on the keyboards
(I may have missed 1 song on the set list). Glen’s half of the show lasted for about 1 hr and 15 min.

Glen’s voice and guitar playing were at the top — just superb !! Don’t miss an opportunity to see him if he comes to your town!! You will NOT be disappointed!! He is the best!!

Ok it isn’t just me. The opening acts STANK. Courtney Taylor was awful. Lucinda Williams might have been drunk.

It would have been nice if you gave some of these artists a pass. Most are doing this just for Glen, so that should mean something. This is about a star with ALZ saying goodbye – I suggest you practice your ‘artist reviews’ on a show with less meaning than a group helping Glen on his goodbye tour. Geez,,,, some people.

      • 09 September 12, 8:00pm

Mike — were you there? Do you have any clue as to what happened and what we experienced? If not, check out what other people said on this site about the concert — they tended to agree with me and the experience I described. Most of these so called “artists” did not do Glen any favors… if you weren’t there — have no idea what you’re talking about — time to get over yourself.

The concert at the historic Bob Hope Theater in Stockton was just amazing. A few stumbles here and there(he covers it well with jokes) and a perfect set list. Brought back so many childhood memories and he played my favorite songs off of Ghost on the canvas. A better place & It’s your amazing grace. The hits were one right after the other. No filler. And yes, I teared up a few times. It was great that he played True Grit, his John Wayne opus. 3 of his children were in the band along with Harry Nillson’s son on bass. Classic show and one heck of a brave man to be doing what he is doing given his health. Class act.

To all of Glen’s fans who wish he would return to their area(s), I don’t blame you. However, there are many places (like Colorado) where he has not performed even one time on his goodbye tour! If he is able to continue touring, I think everyone should have at least one chance to see him. (My husband and I flew from Denver to Tucson to see him there, since there were no Colorado dates scheduled. But we were fortunate to have that opportunity. Not everyone can afford to travel to see his show.)

The NFL should be giving Glen a hell of a look for the halftime show at the next Superbowl,….. Glen has been constantly touring now for years,.. has the great new album out,…… is not controversial,… has huge draw appeal , not only in the US, but around the World,…….. and not only older people,….. but it was passed on to younger generations ,………… IF I WERE IN CHARGE OF THE NFL, BASED ON WHAT GLEN IS DOING, I’D HAVE TO GIVE HIM A HELL OF A LOT OF CONSIDERATION FOR HALFTIME AT THE NEXT SUPERBOWL.

I went to the Las Vegas concert to see Glen, but I fell in love with his family. So often, we see stars with terrible family lives, but when you see his kids, you can see that Glen got it right. I watched the pride show on his and Kim’s face when he was honored at the Country Music Awards 2011. (U-Tube) and his beautiful Ashley on Rascal Flatts Video “Banjo” I love this man for his talent and Jimmy’s songs, but now I love his family. Hollywood should take note that it is actually possible to be a star and keep your feet on the ground and have a good wholesome life. Love you Glen and I always will.

Soundman,….. that is a huge , maybe un-intentuional, back handed slap; against Elvis,….. right? Hollywood,….. If Elvis had sued in Federal Court, after Sun records sold him to the COLONEL,….. Elvis woulda been free to go to NASHVILLE, and been legitimately protected, for the long term,…. Elvis went to Hollywood and recorded hundreds of inconsequential songs for movies that he starred in. YOU ARE RIGHT, only no one believes what we are saying.

Does anyone know if Glen stays around after his concerts to greet fans?

    • RuthM
      04 June 12, 9:11pm

As far as I know, no he does not. My husband and I flew from Denver to Tucson in Feb. to see him. His show was wonderful, but no, we did not have the opportunity to “meet & greet.” As far as I can tell by reading all of these YouTube posts, it’s just by luck that some fans are getting to meet him. I’ve read stories of meeting him in hotel lobbies, on the street, in restaurants, at airports, etc. It always seems to be just a chance meeting. I’m happy for those fans who have been fortunate enough to run into him. I’ve always wanted to meet him myself.
However, I’m not sure if it will be different in Nashville on June 7. I have the impression that the CMA Music Festival may be more geared toward fans meeting their favorite stars, but I’m not really sure if that is the case. Does anyone else know?

I was lucky enough to attend his concert in Las Vegas Saturday night. It was fantastic. Standing room only. I was amazed at how good his voice sounded, and his guitar playing is still top notch. The first time I saw Glen, he was performing with the Beach Boys. I think it was 1968. So, I feel I’ve come full circle with his career. By the way, I love the new album too, and listen to it all the time. Thank you Glen, for all of the great entertainment you have given us over the years.

I saw Glen Campbell today in Nashville. At the airport. I was standing behind him in line to buy a cup of coffee. He looked good and was with his daughter. He was friendly to everyone. Problem though, is only oldies like me recognized him. And that’s understandable.

BC Burke, I agree full 100% with you. Please to all: Listen to his song, see him play his music, absorb his music and let it live on within you. That is what is meant. Treat the man as a treasure, give him too much stress and Glenn will be gone and then only memory remains. Please cherish him being around for all of us.

Give the man a break! He has Alzheimers, Mell, Elle7646, & RuthM! Every moment is a challenge for him. Imagine being in the middle of grocery shopping, and suddenly feeling like you don’t know where you are. You know that awful feeling when you can’t remember the name of someone you’ve known for decades, and they’re standing right in front of you? That’s Glen’s life right now! The music comes from his soul….that’s why he remembers it. Everything else probably has a 50% chance of totally confusing him. Be grateful that he’s still well enough to put on a farewell tour, and that you have the mental capabilities to obtain tickets to see him perform his last concerts before he slips away into the abyss of Alzheimer’s.

      03 June 12, 4:40am

I did say he does not owe me anything. I paid for a ticket and watched a wonderful show. For that I am very happy. I also said he is probably drained after a show. I was trying to politely express that. After all it is similar to a job and after a day of work no one wants to be bombarded.
Bc Burke, kindly read a post thoroughly before assuming something negative.

    • RuthM
      03 June 12, 11:13am

BC Burke, I also did not say anything negative about Glen Campbell. I simply expressed that I understand the disappointment of not meeting him, when there are many, many comments and stories from others on You Tube who have had that pleasure, and they all say how kind he is, and what a wonderful experience it was!
I also said that I have been blessed to have been able to see him in concert numerous times.
Furthermore, I expressed my deep thankfulness that Glen has accepted the gift of Jesus’ death on the cross and resurection, to pay for ALL of OUR sins. That, after all is the most important thing anyone can do in this life! I pray for Glen and his whole family that the Lord will be with them thru these difficult times, and spare them much suffering.
Please don’t put us down for having a desire to meet him. We’re simply espressing how much we do care.

I saw him last in Jacksonville, Fl. He was great his kids can never take his place. I got a picture of Ashley getting on their Bus, But they would not let me within 50 feet of him. I was so disappointed . I just wanted to touch him….Never saw KIM at all. We stayed in the same Hotel they came out a private door. This really hurt when you have been to ee him 3 times, cant get a front row seat and it appears they are trying to shelter him. I have loved this man a long time since 1969 and I am ver hurt by some remarks —He came out shook hands with us and greeted us. This never happened to me. I loved him when everyone else was ready to give up on him- but not me. Hope this mesage will get to him and his family. Because I only went to see Glen Campbell. Sarah Mell

I feel your disappointment! I’ve been wanting to meet Glen Campbell since the late 60’s early 70’s, when I was a teenager and had a huge crush on him! I read all these comments about others meeting him, shaking his hand, having their pictures taken together, chatting with him for several minutes to an hour, etc. How can some be so fortunate, and others like us never get that opportunity? However, I do feel blessed to have seen him live a total of 6 times in my life. The first 5 times were back in the 70’s, and the last time was in Tucson, AZ this past Feb., on his Goodbye Tour.
I’m also very thankful that he got his life turned around and came back to his Christian faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! If I never meet him on earth, we will rejoice together in heaven one day!

I would have loved to have met him too. But I understood that this is probably draining on him after a concert. He does give it his all and would probably love to meet everyone, that’s just how he is. I think of it this way; we did get to see a great show and he doesn’t owe me anything. I’m so glad I saw him and trying to see if I can make another show. God bless him and his family, they are bring so much joy to so many of us.

I was there last night. It has taken me 14 hours or so to sink in what I just saw. Glen Campbell was great last night, and his kids, INSTANT PEOPLE, are great too. Glen CAMPBELL Is a huge star, very few performers are in his level. Johnny Csh couldn’t shine his shoes. Glens got what, a ton of grammys. Last night show in NJ, was awsome for the fans that live in NJ, the people that saw Glen in the 60’s and 70’s, who never forgot what it meant. My dad was a huge Campbell fan,… and Itook my mom last night, my dad passed in 2002,……It is just sinking in how much i appreciate last nights show. Thank you to Glen and his kids!!!!!! ps: i’ll be watchinbg for instant people to do great things,…. xoxoxoxo

From Wikipedia — “Gentle On My Mind” — “Campbell’s hit recording has an interesting history of its own. Campbell had heard Hartford’s original version on the radio and decided at once that he wanted to record it. At the time, Campbell was under contract with Capitol Records as a solo artist but had little success in establishing a name for himself in the public eye. Campbell gathered some of his fellow session players from the famous ‘Wrecking Crew’ gang (one of which being Leon Russell who was later listed as the producer of the album by the same name) to come into the Capitol studio to record a demo version that he could pitch to his producer. Between phrases and stanzas, Campbell would yell instructions to the players. He then left the rough recording for his producer to listen to. His producer fell in love, not only with the song, but with the recording itself. Without telling Campbell, he took the tape back into the studio and removed the unwanted verbiage from between the phrases. He then released the demo recording, which became a mega-hit for Campbell when it was released a second time in the wake of ‘By the Time I Get to Phoenix.'”

I wonder if the original recording still exists??? I would absolutely love to hear it!!!

Thanks Carol for the good history lesson. I too have been a long-time fan and follower.
I agree that the original recording would be great to hear or have. I saw him last Sunday in Pittsburgh and loved eveery minute. In 1975 I saw him at Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh. There certainly are changes with Glen now but so are there with us too. I hope I can see him again when he returns to the East later this summer., As Glen was walking off the stage at the end of the show (with help) he said “I hope we can do this again next year” Did he say that when you saw him recently? Did he talk and joke about his hurt left knee?

      • 27 May 12, 2:31pm

No — looks like he recently hurt his knee. Saw him back in Oct 2011 at the Club Nokia — downtown Los Angeles, then in Feb 2012 at the Pala Casino in Temecula — and he did not mention a knee problem — or that he would like to do it again next year. But, I’m also going to see him at the Hollywood Bowl on June 24 — so, we’ll see what he has to say then. It’s a much bigger venue with Jackson Browne and Kris Kristofferson (and others) heading up the first half tribute to Glen — then Glen doing the 2nd half….can’t wait!!

Perhaps you’ve seen it – but Campbell’s “Goodtimes” DVD features a duet with Hartford who does most of the sining of “Gentle..” one of many gems on that collection.

Glen, family and band, thank you for a “memorable” performance and giving me “A Better Place” to be last evening in Red Bank. The performance was filled with your great voice and amazing licks, but also laughs, tears and admiration for you and your beautiful children. Your children’s love and support is obvious, as well as the talent they have learned and been gifted from you, a legend. I have no doubt we will be seeing more of them. Thank you for your music, humility and courage.

I’ve been fortunate to see Glen Campbell live in concert a total of 6 times thru the years! The first 5 shows were in the 70’s, and the final time was in Tucson in Feb. 2012, during his Goodbye Tour. No, his show is not the same, but I agree 100% that he is still great! It is not the “polished” performance & “production” of his shows from the 70’s, but he is so genuine as he just sings and plays his songs. The whole show seems more real, and in that way is even better than earlier in his career! I love the way he interacts with the audience. The way I feel, Glen and his show have matured with age, and so have his audiences. Back in the 60’s & 70’s I was a star-struck teenager with a huge crush on him. Now, I’m a more mature (hopefully) woman who still cares about him as a person, and I wish him all the best as he continues to share his God-given talent with his fans. At his concert, you could feel the love and support coming from the audience. It was a wonderful experience, and I urge anyone who possibly can to see him on his Goodbye Tour! My thoughts and prayers are with you Glen!

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!! My husband & I saw Glen in Feb. 2012 in Tucson, AZ. They were so strict about cameras of any kind. They told us we only had 1 warning, then we’d be escorted out! We weren’t even able to get 1 whole song, “Gentle on My Mind.”
They told us it was “Glen’s” rule, not the theater’s. I wish I could find out the truth about this. If he honestly does not want to be filmed, (maybe because of his alzheimer’s?) he should tell the audience himself, or have one of his children make the request. I’m sure any fan would respect his wishes. I just have a hard time believing that he really cares himself. And it sure has been wonderful to “relive” that evening here on You Tube! I don’t believe it is harming him (or any other artists, for that matter). If anything, it is helping promote his live tour. It was watching You Tube videos that made me really want to see him perform live one last time! We live in Co., so we flew to Tuscon from Denver. Thank you again for your uploads. I’m still curious about one thing. On your uploads you made the comment that you recorded some of the songs “under cover”, because of “security.” So technically you were told not to record? If so, I’m still wondering if it is Glen Campbell’s personal request, or if the venue makes the rules.
In regards to your other uploads, I already noticed a couple of your Moody Blues videos, and passed the info. on to my brother in Ohio – a huge Moody Blues fan. I look forward to seeing your Gordon Lightfoot videos too.
I’m not “registered” to rate or leave comments on You Tube; don’t quite know how to go about signing up, so that’s why I posted my comments here. (It was your comment and link on this site that lead me to your You Tube uploads. Thanks again for sharing!

I enjoy watching the videos people are posting. I highly and sadly doubt he’ll visit Canada again. I love watching all these clips. I’ve seen some amazing ones and some that are just sad to watch. Nature of the disease I guess. His past 2 nights have been AMAZING to watch. He’s got all his chops going. Curious about the “accident” story about his knee though. The venues are “evil” and will always say its the “performers” request just so they don’t get the guff of it. People have been tapping Glen’s shows for YouTube for a few years now and I’ve yet to see him pull an Axl Rose on anyone (lol). To hell with venue nazi’s and let’s keep giving Glen some free publicity and some more magical videos through his “Goodbye Tour”. I saw opening night in Toronto last year and someone filmed that WHOLE show. Someone also filmed the entire Reno, NV show AND on VIMEO there’s PROSHOT footage of the Club Nokia Gig (first 21 mins). So I HIGHLY doubt Glen’s bitching about filming. Venues will never change. Oh well. Keep ’em coming 🙂 I also enjoyed his “short” version of Wichita Lineman. 1 Verse and straight to the solo that HE NAILED PERFECTLY!! Let God keep giving him the strength to continue playing. So far, so good.

Not sure why no pics, saw him tonight at American Music Theater in Lancaster and were allowed to take pictures, no flash. This has always been AMT rule. I have always taken pictures at their events.
So I am sure it was not “Glens rule”. Every artist and every theater makes their own rules. But I am sure the people who insist on using flash despite being told not too, ruin it for everyone. Maybe this had been a big issue at previous shows at the theater you were at?

We also just returned from the Paducah Concert. It was great but also sad to see such a Musician/Singer come to the end. We are glad that we went. He did miss some words but the man can still rip the guitar, either my hat is off to him for a great show. We thank you Mr. Campbell!!!

Just saw the show in Paducah KY….it was amazing. If you are in any way a Glen Campbell fan you need to try to see this show. He is delightful and for a few conflicting moments here and there, he played the guitar as well as his younger days and delivered a wonderful performance. Big highlight is when he and his daughter perform the dueling banjo / guitar…It was a big wow moment that she has only been playing 4 years and is so good – and he is 76 and didn’t miss a beat! Pay for the good seats – sit close and watch a legend perform as he says his final goodbye to his fans! P.S. 3 of his kids are in his band and the adoration they have for their father is clearly on all their faces. His son said it best…here is a man on stage battling difficult times and he is kicking butt over those who have no problems at all…So true Cal!

    Hi Glenn Campbell,
For many years I remember a special night at the Bordentown Bowling Alley where you were performing in the bar there. It was just you and me and we talked and just laughed. You told me that you were going to appear on the Ed Sullivan Show in the next week or two. I told you then, you were on your way and you did. It was a special meeting that ngiht and I never forgot it. God keep you safe and well. The Bordentown Bowling Alley was in New Jersey.

I’m 52 and have always loved Glen! I’m not a big country fan, yet I appreciate talent wherever I hear it.

Glen is a superb guitarist, singer, and all-around entertainer!

I was so very saddened to hear the news of his dementia. I only hope that he realizes how many folks truly love him and his music.

    Best wishes,

In several medical journals it is documented that keeping busy is healthy for Alzheimers patients. Better than just keeping busy exercise, playing music, socializing and humor are the best therapies of all. Glen is fortunate in that his career is in music. The area of the brain where this function (music) comes froM is the temporal lobe within the cerebral cortex. The Thalamus is also believed to be involved. Activity in this areas of the brain stimulates cell growth, maintains healthy neuron activity and maintains mental elasticity. Resting quietly advances the disease. I would consider this tour therapeutic for the entire family but especially for Glen.

Is there actually a moron out there in the world that believes something they read in The Enquirer?????? Mrs. Campbell has been with Glen since the early 80’s and they have beem through alot together. If you could actually see them up close, you would see a family FULL of Love! His children are some of the nicest folks in the industry as is his wife. Unless you actually have FACTS, you should keep your moronic opinion to yourself! And even if you actually did have facts, its NONE of your buisness!

Who cares about Debby Campbell? If Debby Campbell went on tour without her father she wouldn’t fill up a bar full of people even if they paid people to come. Glen is not retarded. If he wanted Debby with him on this tour, she’d be there. He doesn’t, so she isn’t.

        • 01 May 12, 7:32pm

Debby toured with her Dad for almost 20 years. She has a loyal following among many Glen Campbell fans and is a class act. I’m sure far more people would pay to see Debby perform than listen to your Internet badmouthing of a fine lady.

        • Susu
          07 May 12, 11:50am

OMG !!! Glen has NOTHING to say about anything about this tour!! Obviously YOU havent figured that out yet!!! Debby is a class act who always took care of and protected her fathers best interests…cant say the same for others.

Ok thx — I’ll check it out — sounds pretty sad — huh?

      • Simkatu
        30 April 12, 6:17am

No it’s not sad. What’s sad is that Glen has Alzheimer’s. I’m not saddened about Debbie’s fate. She is healthy and wealthy living off her father’s fortune and she’ll be able to for a long time. Nothing to be sad about.

        • 01 May 12, 7:37pm

Simatku: Debby is NOT wealthy and living off her father’s fortune. She is a self made person with her own career which was established even before she ever performed with her father. Stop posting up nonsense, you have no idea what you are talking about.

        • Susu
          07 May 12, 11:54am

FYI..Debbie has another job, and always has, she is NOT living off her fathers fortune, never has. YOU have never met her or Glen or have seen them perform together, or else you wouldnt be making such ignorant comments.

          • 07 May 12, 8:47pm

Susu — Do you know if it was Debby’s decision not to be on the Good-Bye Tour or someone else’s decision? I miss seeing her on the tour — I saw her with her dad a few years back at the Cerritos Perf. Arts Center in Calif. I hope it was her choice — I wish her well and wish she was still on the tour.

What a tremendous concert. Watching you on stage brought back memories of my mom and myself at Wisconsin State Fair the summer 1970. She made me at age sit through 2 shows. And I was so proud to be with my mother, and tonight she couldn’t make it. The love that the kids have for their dad was unbelievable. Glen, you are truly a gift! Thank you for making me slow down and enjoy wonderful memories.

I am 47, and as a little kid I remember watching the Goodtime Hour on TV. I grew fake side burns in an effort to be like Glen Campbell. It was the honor of my family to recently attend the Goodbye Tour in Florida’s Silver Springs. For us, it was an emotional show which we will forever cherish. Everyone in attendance wanted to be there, and appreciated every note from the Rhinestone Cowboy. My 11 year old daughter finds Southern Nights as her favorite as she currently take guitar lessons. She did take quite a liking to Little One, as did I, performed by Glen’s children, who he must be extremely proud of. God Bless you Glen and thank you for all the memories. We look forward to following Instant People in the upcoming years and will always think of you. God Bless You and your family Glen! Glad you are doing fine!

We traveled from Fort Myers to Silver Springs for a terrific concert in my opinion. Some lyrics may escape him, however, his guitar playing was perfection. Chet Atkins once said he was the finest guitar player he ever saw. There could be no greater praise than that. We pray for him and his family and the journey ahead.

We had the honor to see Glen last night in Jacksonville. He was spectacular and very special. I am sitting here thinking…how do you thank someone for forty plus years of adding so much enjoyment to our lives? God bless you Glen Campbell..and THANK YOU.

Saw Glen in Jacksonville, Florida last night and he was great. Couldn’t get his autograph before or after the show but I managed to get to him just about an hour ago when they all took off for MS this morning. Glen was very very nice.

My daughter and I just saw him tonight in Jacksonville, FL. He was fantastic. His voice is amazing and he can still dance those fingers across the strings. His sense of humor covered small challenges. Def worth the ticket price.

I saw Glen last night in Melbourne, FL, & I have to say that the Man was spot on! Except for some minor hiccups here & there Glen played the Guitar perfectly with no errors. After “Dueling Banjo’s with Daughter Ashley, Glen left the stage & Instant people performed a very new song written by Ashley with her Brother Shannon for the very first time anywhere & I loved it!! Only disappointing thing was I was unable to meet Glen or any of the band members for pictures or autogrpahs. Here are some of the songs that were played:

    Gentle on my Mind
By the time I get to Phoenix
    Where’s the playground Susie
    Rhinestone Cowboy
    Southern Nights
    The Moons A harsh Mistress
    Didn’t We
    Dueling Banjos
    Lovesick Blues
    Whichita Lineman
    Country Boy
    A better place

I was lucky to get to see Glen twice this week, in Clearwater in a small setting; and Silver Springs outdoors with lots of fans. He sounds better than ever. I cried just knowing it’s probably the last show I will see. 🙁 Glen has given me many memories over the past 40 some years. Thanks for the kindness you show. Your kids are kind just like their dad. I wish you good health as you have the courage and strength to continue to tour. Thanks Glen

I saw Glen at the Inn of the Mountain Gods in Ruidoso, NM. He put on a great show. And to my surprise as I was waiting in the lobby the next morning there he was. He was so gracious. Talked to me and even gave me a big hug. What a treat to not only to get to see his concert but to meet him too. This is a picture of him and me. My camera was in the car so had someone take it with my cell phone. I wish I could see him again

Great comment! How can some people be so fortunate? I’ve wanted to meet Glen Campbell since the late 60s early 70s, when I had a huge crush on him!
My husband and I flew from Denver to Tucson to see his show there, and it was wonderful! I took a letter I had written to him and a lapel pin, and I was able to give them to his daughter, Ashley, after Instant People’s opening act. That’s as close as I got!

  360. 22 March 12, 9:59pm

Question for those of you lucky enough to have seen his shows: Is he still playing that lovely lead solo on the song “Galveston?”

Saw Glen and family here recently at the Pala Resort ( Near San Diego )…It was a great show. And along with all my favorites he did ” The moon is a harsh mistress ” which is my all time favorite Glen Campbell song and he was amazing…

  364. 21 March 12, 10:19pm

so many more dates 😮 WOW. I’m so glad to see him continue on like a trooper!! Gives even more chances for people to say “Goodbye” to him. But I’d love to have something in Canada. In these horrible “money” times for everyone, I can’t just drive 5-7 hours to go to a show PLUS a hotel room. When he played Toronto, it packed up hours before the show…. ITS A SIGN. CANADA LOVES Glen. Ottawa & Montreal have fantastic venues that I’m sure would LOVE to have you play im them. PLZ consider us 🙂

Okay, finally booked in my area! (San Francisco) Got my tix for Santa Rosa (nearby SF). I have been a fan of Glen since I was 6. I will be 49 on April 22. That’s right, April 22, same Bday as Glen! I have been sending him Birthday buddy greetings for years and this will be the 3rd concert I’ve attended. I had front row seats the last time I saw him in Napa. My 5 year old son and 10 year old daughter were with me and Glen would smile and nod at us quite a bit. I think my kids were the only little ones there. And they were enthralled, in fact they are now fans too and going to this last concert. Both the kids have wanted to learn guitar since seeing Glen in Napa. Now my girl plays guitar and my son can play harmonica, bass and is learning trumpet.
I have never asked for an autograph or even met Glen, but I am really hoping I get a chance to meet him this time to say thank you for his gifts and inspiration and have my kids meet him too. I feel such a special connection with him because of our mutual birthday. If we can’t meet I would at least love to hear him play one of my favorite songs in at the Santa Rosa concert… “Highway Man” and/or “The Moon’s A Harsh Mistress”.

I hear you! A lot of us grew up “in love” with Glen Campbell. Read my other comments (posted under Tour and Discography.) They tell my “Glen Campbell Story.” I’ve wanted to meet him since my teenage crush on him in the late 60s early 70s.

Just came home from watching Glen Campbell and Co. perform at the Capitol Theatre in Clearwater Fl. It was one fantastic evening. Though he is suffering from dementia, his children supported him through the few times he missed a lyric or notes on guitar. None the less, he is still a true performer through and through. I have been a fan for over 45 years thanks to Mom and it was the first and unfortunately last time I will see him perform. From a studio musician to a legend, his farewell tour is a must see.

    • 21 March 12, 9:52pm

Wow just awesome. I live in SE Asia so I sadly can’t see him. Do you know what guitar was he playing? He usually plays a Strat or a Gretch.

      • RW
        09 January 13, 1:04am

I worked with him for 5 years he NEVER used anything but Ovations in fact I was there when they brought the new thin-line acoustic with EQ in I believe 1982. He had an Ovation Blue Bird and a Deacon 12 string which I currently own it was given to me by Glen. His all time favorite is a Mosrite Guitar, he traded a person in the Audience for one of his Ovation Bluebirds I had the other one but it was sold. Now did Glen use a Strat or Gretch I have seen him use a strat on a show or video but in the 5 years I was with him he never used a strat or Gretch. I also have one of the Black Ovations he plays on the VH1 special I have the sister to that. Anyway I hope this is what you wanted to know and probable more than you really wanted to know. I am very sad and was surprised when I heard he was having some health problems. He was one of the Best people I EVER worked with and he was ALWAYS respectful to the band and crew.

  367. 21 March 12, 8:56pm

Glen Campbell should be inducted into the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME. This man was the Beach Boys guitarist and has played on some of the most famous rock records of all time. Its about time Glen Campbell got his due not just as a great country artist but an amazing, kick ass ROCK guitarist as well. We love you Glen!

  368. Karen
    21 March 12, 6:11pm

ha, what songs wouldn’t you want Glen to sing. We love ya Glen Rhinestone Cowboy. Southern Nights, AWW Glen it is so hard to decide what songs i would love to hear, maybe i will go turn on my CD’s and listen to you now. Oh, i live in Hawaii so that is ok, i love you anyway.

    • 21 March 12, 9:10pm

Fun, Fun, Fun (Beach Boys); Viva Las Vegas (Elvis); Mr. Tambourine Man (The Byrds); You Just May Be The One (The Monkees) would be great songs to hear him play as well considering he was the guitar player on all of those songs in the studio when they were recorded.

      • Karen
        21 March 12, 9:45pm

Fun FUN FUN was one of my fav from the beach boys, loved that thing, Isn’t he incredible? Just love him

        • 21 March 12, 9:49pm

Its a great song. Glen Campbell was actually Brian Wilson’s hand-picked guitarist on almost all of the Beach Boys records. Glen had a massive influence on the recording of Pet Sounds which is regarded as the Beatles inspiration for Sgt. Peppers and one of the most influential rock records of all time. As a guitar player myself he is one of my heroes. Why Glen is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is shocking.

RRHOF is run by a misfits Jann Wenner, Suzan Evans, et al… When bands like Heart, The Moody blues, Rush, Deep Purple, ELO, YesGlen is a HOF’er and hopefully he will get in…maybe we can trade him for run dmc…

          • 22 March 12, 9:50pm

I couldn’t agree with you more. Jann Wenner is an asshole. Incredibly, neither the Cure or the Pixies are in the RR HOF but Grand Master P and the Beastie Boys (best known for a beer guzzling frat party tune) are. He also won’t allow the Monkees in who sold 65 million records and revolutionized music video because they didn’t play their own instruments on their first two records. Nevermind the fact nearly every popular act at that time was using the incredibly talented musicians of the Wrecking Crew which included the great Glen Campbell!

How can all of us make a website and request he be inducted into the Hall of Fame
I’m shocked to hear he isn’t already.
Glen was Elvis’ favorite singer. FYI

          • 22 March 12, 9:54pm

Interesting you bring up Run DMC. One of their biggest hits was “Mary Mary Why Ya Buggin”, which was a remix of the Monkees tune “Mary Mary” written by Mike Nesmith. Guess who did the famous guitar intro to the song which Run DMC used in their version as well? GLEN CAMPBELL who seems to have done the guitar work a whole slew of artists currently in the Rock Hall of Fame. Glen Campbell and nearly every member of the Wrecking Crew deserve to be in the RR HOF period.

I’m 19 yrs. old and will be at the concert on May 18 in Paducah, KY. i would love to hear Mr. Campbell sing “Amazing Grace” and play the bagpipes!! also “Crying” by Roy Orbison from his “Gentle On My Mind” album is a good one also.

    • 21 March 12, 9:01pm

Some Beach Boys songs would be great too considering he was there guitar player.

    • RuthM
      27 March 12, 12:41pm

I agree with you. Unfortunately he doesn’t sing either of those songs on his Goodbye Tour. In the early 70’s I was fortunate to attend a concert where he did perform “Amazing Grace,” bagpipes and all. Now your best bet is YouTube. The next best thing to a live performance; you can find both of these songs uploaded. My favorite of “Jesus and Me” was taped at his church in Phoenix on New Year’s Eve, 1989 I believe. It was before he had redorded that song. Awsome!
You may be interested in reading my comment on this website, posted under Discography, regarding his final cd “Ghost on the Canvas.” The songs, music, and guitar are beautiful, but I was disappointed that the words are somewhat ambiguous. I was hoping for a final Christian witness from Glen Campbell, especially considering how the Lord has worked in his life. Have you read his autobiography, “Rhinestone Cowboy?”
In any case, he ends his concert with “A Better Place.” As a Christian, I interpret it to mean heaven.
Have a wonderful time on May 18!

Was lucky enough to see Glen at the concert in Shelton. The house was packed and his guitar playing was AMAZING! He’s still got it, people. I grew up watching him and listening to his music, and it brought back many memories from a more innocent time of my life. Very special night that I was able to share with my wife. I drove from Boise, rendezvoused with my son from Portland, to see Glen’s concert in Spokane Saturday night. Spectacular evening! I heard the word “legend” over and over that evening, and well deserved. “Dueling Banjos” (with his beautiful daughter, Ashley) was a special delight. His talented family was well represented — hopefully they will one day carry on the family act! Thank, you Glen, for a most memorable evening. Keep up the great work — you are an inspiration!

Drove from Portland to see you in Shelton WA last week.
When you walked on that stage, you and I were young again, the world was a better place, and we were back at the Festival Hall.
I lived in the UK then, worked in touring and music much of my life, and am now seeing all the great artists one more time.
I didn’t see the passage of time, I didn’t notice the affects of the condition, I saw a man, talented beyond all reason, sharing his music and love with us one more time. A beautiful show, thank you for your music, courage and inspiration.
    Thanks Glen, safe journey.

Thoroughly enjoyed Glen Campbell and his family on the Goodbye Tour in Spokane. He still has his wonderful voice, great looks, and it was a great pleasure to see him again. Got the chance to see Glen in Shelton Friday night. Incredible! He was gracious enough to sign my GC Greatest Hits 8-track (which is now the way-coolest thing I own)! He said that Kenny Rogers took the picture of him that’s on the cover and never got paid for it. I wonder when the last time he thought of that story was? That this brought back a memory for him that he may not have thought of in decades made me happy. I hope it made him happy to remember. Thank you so much to his bass player for takong the 8-track back to Glen for me:-)

Wow! What a show in Shelton, WA on March 2!

Glen, his beautiful daughter Ashley, two handsome sons, and three other talented band members played to a sold-out house. His music was spectacular and timeless, as always. I felt so proud of this American and his solid, supportive family. I was pleasantly surprised to learn what wonderful talent spans the whole family. Being at this show made me proud, once again, to be an American and to appreciate our musical icons. Keep on rockin’, to Glen and the entire band!

Last time I saw him…it was 1974 downstairs behind the scenes as an employee at Harrahs Casino in Tahoe, he took the time to visit with an 18 year old busboy and a just as young bus girl for a while. He shook my hand ,hugged that bus girl. A REAL Gentleman and TRUE AMERICAN , GOD bless you Glen !

I saw Glen performing in Boston last week and I’m very happy that I managed to get there.
It was quite a long way to come from Helsinki, but definitely worth the effort.
There were tears in my eyes many times during the concert, and I wasn’t the only one. All the best for Glen and his family.

There is a rumor circulating that Glen Campbell died the same week of Whitney Houston. I am relieved to see that is not true!

Come to the San Francisco Bay Area, please. Another Tahoe/Reno gig wouldn’t be a bad idea if the Bay Area doesn’t work out, but we really want you here. I have family members who are envying me for seeing Glen in Reno last October, and I’d really love to take my family to see Glen here in the San Francisco (or even Napa/Sonoma, Oakland/Berkeley, etc.) area. He hasn’t played here in a few years and there are a lot of country and Glen Campbell fans here who would dearly love to see him.

My husband and I saw the show at the Mohegan this past Friday. This show should not be missed. I’m glad to see you can purchase merchandise on this site because there was not one item left to purchase at the end of the show. I went through his list of shows to see if there was anything close so we could see him again. Glen’s singing and guitar playing were so moving. For people with Alzheimer’s and their families, to see what someone is capable of doing with the love and support of family and friends just leaves you in awe. Ronnie Milsap was also great. He had the entire arena up and singing America The Beautiful. Events like this are a reminder of what the human race is capable of when at its best!

We celebrated 45 years of listening to Glenn Campbell’s music Fri night at Mohegan Sun. His first hit came out the year we were married. He is truly a seasoned entertainer and gave us all a great and memorable concert. And what a guitar player!!! We loved the dueling banjo’s with his daughter. He has not lost his talent nor ability to entertain and it comes through when he in on stage. While his voice has changed he sang all his hits that brought all in the audience to their feet. His band (including his children), musical director and prodction support staff added to making the evening so special. Thank you Glenn. Be well.

Saw Glenn Campbell on Saturday night at the Mohegan Sun, the show was AWESOME…it was the best…Glenn had the audiance singing along with him…and received several standing ovation throughout the show !!! Could of listen to Glenn sing all night long ..We didn’t want him to leave…He played the guitar unbelievable…His children are a credit to him, how blessed Glenn is to have his children with him in the show. Wish I could see the show again !!! I really don’t think there is anything else that can top his show…

My father and I saw you in December of 1999 in Wilmington, Delaware on your Christmas & Hits tour, it was fantastic. He was a huge fan of your music, as am I. You inspired me to learn guitar, and I have been playing over thirty years. Dad and I met you after the show and you signed your book for me, which I cherish. He passed away in 2006, and I miss him dearly. He had music in him, like you. I look forward to seeing you on tour soon, and want to thank you for your music. God bless you and your family.

I saw him perform Feb 17th at Pala Casino in California. I swear I thought I would cry from happiness at watching him perform. I have always been a fan of Carlos Santana and his guitar playing, and Glen is right up there with the best of them. His dexterity and talent amazed me with his solo guitar moments. His 3 children in the band are so great also. I *felt* like his daughter looks out for him while they perform. She is also very talented, and does multiple instruments. I didnt want the night to end, I could have listened for hours and hours. There were even a few songs I forgot about, like “Where’s the playground Suzie”. I cant say enough good things about his show. I would love to see him again if I should be lucky enough to have that opportunity.

I would love to see you again Glen Campbell, I have ever since I was a little girl had a crush on you and had a huge poster on my wall in my bedroom. I really would love to meet you in person and tell you how much I have been blessed over the years to be able to listen to your music. When kids my age back when I was a teenager they listened to soft rock and hard rock in roll I was listing to you back in the late 60’s up to now. Are you going to make a dvd on your Farewell Tour I sure would love to purchase a copy and a cd of the tour and do you have a program of the tour. Also do you have a tee-shirt with your picture on it with the final tour on the back of the tee-shirt? Please get back to me. MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS.

I can so relate to your comment! I too listened to Glen Campbell when the others were into rock-n-roll. I’d be interested in a cd and/or dvd of his final tour also. We (my husband and I) just saw him in Tucson, Arizona; it was wonderful! He does have a tour program available at his concerts, for $20.00 I think. Also, check out the “Glen Campbell American Treasure”-limited edition box set, featured on this web site. I believe the program is included in that.
Also, click on “SHOP” at the top of this web site; it will take you to Surfdog Records where you can purchase a variety of Glen Campbell tees. There is one with his picture from early in his career.
Also, I’m so thankful the Holy Spirit wrked in his life. You may be interested in reading my other comments, posted under Tour and Discography.

here’s an idea for the people who don’t have a show scheduled in their city; with all of these shows through June I’m sure you people that want him to come to you can instead go to him. He’s got enough shows to do as it is.

    • 22 February 12, 9:58am

yea, well if I was rich, I’d be more then happy to go to him, but with the cost of EVERYTHING these days, traveling isn’t always the most financially reasonable option. I saw Glen in August and traveled 4 1/2 hours to see him. It was well worth it, but was expensive. So I’m hoping he comes back to Canada somewhere a little closer this time. We’d love to have him back, but the only close show to where I am is Verona, NY (another 4 hours) and its SOLD-OUT!! So that’s why many people vent for him to come just a little closer. I have no problem traveling to NY State, but can’t if its too far….

When I was young teenager in Glasgow, Scotland, I used to listen to pirate radio at night on my tiny transistor radio. They played Glen Campbell music almost every hour. His voice touched my heart so much that I vowed to come to the United States and live. Luckily, I met a boy who although it was not his mission, agreed to take the adventure with me. 34 years later, we live in New Jersey, we have raised 2 children, both University graduates, my daughter has modelled and my son is a drummer in a rock and roll band. If that is not living the American Dream I don’t know what is. My birthday was last Saturday. When I opened my card from my husband, 2 tickets for the Glen Campbell concert in Connecticut fell out! It took my breath away! Thank you Mr. Campbell for your beautiful music, I have it on my ipod and your voice still brings tears to my eyes. God bless you and your family, I look forward to seeing you this week.

My husband and I flew from Denver to Tucson to attend Glen Campbell’s concert there! There were no dates scheduled in Colorado, and we didn’t want to risk missing this final goodbye tour. We had great seats – 3rd row center! The only catch was, in order to reserve the 2 seats we needed on line, we actually were forced to reserve all three remaining seats in that section. The “computer” would not confirm the reservation for 2 seats; it gave us a message that it would not allow only a single seat left open between other seats. Since we were flying to Tucson and spending two nights in a motel, we went ahead and bought all 3 seats, so we could get the seats we wanted. We mentioned this to the box office when we picked up our tickets prior to the show, stating that we had an extra ticket available for sale. It would have been nice to have one more fan able to enjoy this wonderful evening, since it was a sold out show. The concert was fantastic! However, Fox Theater would not allow any photos or videos, stating that it was “Glen Campbell’s rule, not theirs.” I wish I could find out the truth about this issue. If it is truly Glen’s wish to not be filmed, I wish he himself or perhaps one of his 3 choldren would make an announcement. Something like, “Out of respect for my Dad’s wishes, please do not take any photos or video during the performance,” would go a long way. I don’t think any fan with any decency would try to sneak filming if they knew it was honestly Glen’s preference. As it was, nobody really believed Glen cared, with all the videos of this tour out there on YouTube. Perhaps it is distracting to him because of his Alzheimers? At any rate, we were told “You only get one warning.” If we got caught a second time, we would be escorted out of the theater! Thankfully, at least one other person was able to accomplish what we were not; as of today, 2-19, there is one video of this event on YouTube.
Glen, thank you for giving us this final opportunity to see and hear you perform live! I brought a letter I had written and a lapel pin for you; I was able to give them to your daughter Ashley. I hope you like them. My prayers are with you. Keep Jesus in your heart always!

We too have just returned from the Phoenix concert. If there are two things you do this year they should be to buy Ghost on the Canvas and see this show. Just like Lori said his children are part of the backing band and to have him be able to spend his last tour with his children backing him has got to be the best memory those children will ever have. And I am sure Glen deeply feels the specialness of these moments. It was just an amazing night. When he finished up with A Better Place I can’t imagine there was a dry eye in the house. Just returned from Glen’s Phoenix concert; the man still has hands on that guitar… he’s a legend, he’s a gentle giant, he’s a fabulous entertainer. The hour-and-a-half flew by entirely too fast; the two encore numbers helped make up for that! The opening band, “Instant People” was a wonderful segway into the concert… partially because it included his three wonderful, musically gifted, beautiful children.

Glen, you’ve been one of my favorite singers since my way-back-when days growing up in New Mexico in the ’60s. Thank you for being you, for being the wonderful, amazing entertainer — and God Speed!

I saw Glen in Houston, I believe it was my 6th birthday. My parents had given me a choice, a birthday party with prurience, family and presents OR a trip to Houston to see Glen Campbell! It was an easy choice for this little girl! My mom wrote a letter with a request for the best possible tickets. They answered her request with front row seats! I remember my sister taking me to stand outside of his dressing room hoping to get a close up glance of my favorite star. She held me on her shoulders as he was rushed pass us. I couldn’t believe I was that close to him! My mom remembers when he came out to perform, she never thought her excitement would measure up to mine. But it did,she said “Damn he’s pretty!”.
That was 42 years ago. We now live in Midland Texas and I will get to celebrate my 48th birthday seeing Glen Campbell in concert! I am beyond excited, thrilled!!!! I cannot wait to see him!
Thank you for all the wonderful memories, I could go on and on!

nothing after June. I have an AWESOME picture in my mind of Glen singing at The 12th Annual Worst Golf Tournament to raise money for the Alzheimers Association on the Naval Base of Oceana in Virginia Beach, VA. What do we need to do to make this happen ALL in the name of putting ALZHEIMERS front and center and putting an END to this AWFUL disease.

I’d love to take my dad to see Mr. Campbell but the closest venue is 3 1/2 hours drive. Does anyone know if more dates will be added? Baltimore or DC is sorely missing from this list!

    • Michaelcsanders2011
      12 February 12, 7:39pm

FYI: I don’t know if more dates will be added, but if you’re looking at the Jim Thorpe show, you will be in for a real treat. The town is absolutely beautiful and the venue is among my favorites. It is well worth the 3 1/2 hour drive. It’s not in a city or anything, rather backwoods roads until you stumble upon the town. The Inn at Jim Thorpe is a great place to stay and it’s like 4 miles from the venue. I would highly, highly encourage you to check it out. Grab your tickets on Stubhub soon…because it’s sold out.
